The Monterey County Regional Fire District offers a Safety Sitter class for kids between the ages of 10-15.    

The class will be held on a  Saturday beginning at 9:00am and lasts about 4-5 hours.  Items suggested to be brought to the class are:  water, a notepad with a pencil/pen & possibly a lunch.  The classes are held at the East Garrison Fire Station, located at 13630 Sherman Blvd., in Marina

It is designed for new babysitters or kids who may be spending time home alone. Topics covered are:  how to safely use a fire extinguisher, basic first aid, choking, hands only cpr and how to spot safety concerns.
